GKI Metanoia Youth Fellowship (PAM) Christmas 2024 Celebrated with Joy at Rastuna Complex

DEKAI, Metanoia Editorial Team – The 2024 Christmas celebration of the GKI Metanoia Youth Fellowship (PAM) was filled with joy on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Rastuna Complex, Jalan Paradiso Bawah, APMS. The service began at 10:00 AM WIT and was attended by approximately 50 people, including senior PAM members, PAR representatives, and PHMJ, who provided support and encouragement to the GKI Metanoia youth.

Among those present were former PAM Vice Chair Geofano Kalesaran, alongside senior leaders  Tina Koibur and Sabatina, as well as Aplena, representing PAR. Manuel Mamoribo, representing PHMJ, also attended to express his appreciation for the success of the event.

Christmas Theme: “Let Us Now Go to Bethlehem”

This year’s Christmas celebration carried the theme “Let Us Now Go to Bethlehem” (Luke 2:15) with the sub-theme:

“Through the Celebration of Jesus Christ’s Birth, the Youth of GKI Metanoia Embrace, Receive, and Experience God’s Love with Joy and Share It with Others in Fellowship.”

The sub-theme emphasized the importance of embracing and sharing Christ’s love as part of the youth’s calling in their ministry.

A Historic Moment at Rastuna Complex

The Christmas service was led by Rev. Sion Tanduk, S.Th., who read from Luke 2:15 and delivered a sermon highlighting the significance of holding Christmas at Rastuna for the first time.

“This is an extraordinary step that reflects the Christian faith of GKI Metanoia youth in embracing the Rastuna community. This Christmas celebration serves as a catalyst for growth in faith and ministry,” said Rev. Sion.

He also commended the relevance of the theme and sub-theme and encouraged the youth to implement them in their daily lives.

“This sub-theme is remarkable. I hope it is not just a slogan but becomes a tangible guide for the youth in their service and everyday life,” he added.

Chairman’s Remarks

In his speech, Fendy Yoel, S.Si.Teol, Chairman of the 2024 PAM Christmas Committee, expressed gratitude to everyone involved in making the event a success.

“Praise and thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ for His blessings and grace that have allowed us to hold this Christmas celebration. This service is the result of excellent collaboration among the committee and fellow youth,” said Fendy.

He further explained the purpose of the Christmas celebration, which was to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ as the Savior of the world and to enhance unity and fellowship among the GKI Metanoia Youth.

Fendy also extended special appreciation to the Rastuna community for providing the venue and contributing to the smooth execution of the event.

“If there are any shortcomings during this service, I, as the chairman of the committee, sincerely apologize. May this Christmas celebration bring blessings and peace to us all. Let us continue to be a light in this world through Christ’s love,” he concluded.
